In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK preparing for a address at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to travel that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed speech I doubt I can make the flight we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a Gulf Air departing at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an excellent assistant".

These messages were released on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. The BBC has been able to confirm his identity by matching the timeline, occurrences, and places mentioned.

For example, Epstein talks about arranging a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and gave the talk at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any misconduct, did not reply on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's closest aides in the run up to the 2016 election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but resigned from the administration in 2017.

He has admitted he was making a film about Epstein before his passing and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he said: "We're going to release the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - at the start of next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A few days prior to the conversation in which Epstein seemed to booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "what's it like to have the highest-paid travel agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r pretty good asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

UK Politics Discussed in Exchanges

The published messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

On the same day his speech at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I became involved in the EU exit issue this morning with Nigel, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled UK prime minister at the time, he added: "They are trying to move on. may soon…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so people see the commitment of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa May remain in power". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys here have no balls" and noted "Boris ; Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was finally toppled in 2019 after withstanding two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A representative for the political party informed media: "Nigel Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred.

The Congress will decide soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records concerning its probe into Epstein, who passed away in prison in 2019.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was reignited recently after the publication of over 20,000 pages from his archives.

A portion of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for years, but claims they fell out in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was first arrested.
